Survivor Advisory Committee

 The Survivor Advisory Committee is volunteer group of cancer survivors that provide advice related to the development of the cancer center, its programs and administration. Advisors are all cancer survivors and have received a least part of their treatment through the cancer program at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. Many have received additional care in other centers and bring the additional benefit of this experience to our discussions.

 This committee was originally formed to help provide guidance for the designing of the building and to provide advice regarding the materials to be utilized within. As the building neared completion, this committee provided advice on questions related to patient comfort and sense of well being. From the gown and robes that will be worn to programs to be offered both to cancer survivors and the general public. Policies of the center will be reviewed as time continues by this group, and their support will be sought as new developments become available.
